Incident at Nanaimo, British Columbia

Summary

1996-06-18: The C210 landed at Nanaimo at 2125Z NORDO. It did not conflict with other traffic. The pilot stated he was IFR from Vernon to Nanaimo and cancelled IFR with Vancouver ACC "halfway across Georgia Strait at 7500". No estimate was recieved at Nanaimo and pilot was unaware of MF 122.1. Pilot also stated he did not have an approach plate for Nanaimo and didn't feel he needed one as the weather was VFR.
