Incident at Victoria Harbour, British Columbia
Summary
1996-06-14: At approx 2005Z, NT56WJ called 5NM SE of Victoria Harbour landing. Airport advisory was given along with instructions for a westbound landing. At 2010Z, NT56WJ called on final for eastbound landing. Aircraft was landing with the wind and landed hard, bouncing approx 30 feet in the air. By this time there was vessel traffic in front of him, so he did a non-standard missed approach over parliament building and landed safely on second attempt. The aircraft arrived form the US with no flight plan, and step taxied into inner harbour after second landing.
