Incident at Vancouver 50 NM E

Summary

1997-01-29: C-GZFK was 5 miles in trail of company Chieftain C-GDJR on aurway V342 Vancouver to Blue River at 11,000 feet. ATC cleared the lead aircraft to turn and fly direct to Kamloops. Strong headwinds reduced the relative ground speed causing an unintentional loss of separation to 4.1 miles where 5 miles is required. Further ATC clearances increased the spacing.
