Incident at OTTAWA / MACDONALD-CARTIER INTL ON (CYOW) (Security acts)
Summary
1996-11-28: A bomb threat was made at Ottawa International Airport. A vehicle with Colordao plates had been left on 1st Avenue, 30' from the pedestrian path. The owner had given a woman $50 and the keys to park the vehicle then boarded a flight to Baltimore. Vehicle searched and EVD tested. EVD test was positive. Bomb Squad was called. Box contained clothing exposed to nitrates which was probably cause of positive test. Ops. Impact -- two departures delayed approximately 30 minutes; part of terminal building was evacuated.
