Incident at MUSKOKA ON (CYQA) (Aerodrome - visual aids)
Summary
1996-10-23: During the approach to Muskoka, the runway lights (ARCAL) went out, resulting in a missed approach. The aircraft had to circle for about five minutes while attempting to restart the lights. The aircraft landed without incident. The airport manager stated that there have been previous problems with the ARCAL when there have been multiple transmissions. The system was tested the following day without any problems. Ops. impact -- none.
