Accident at Milford Bay, Ontario

Summary

1996-10-22: During an attempted third take-off, the aircraft would not accelerate to full speed. Engine power appeared to be sufficient when the aircraft began to take on water rapidly and began to sink. The pilot and passenger evacuated the aircraft and were picked up by passing boaters. Subsequent recovery and inspection of the aircraft revealed a two foot section of the left side (varying height) was missing (apparently due to delamination of the fibreglass).
