Summary

1996-09-30: Initial information from T.S.B. Initial Notification (#A96F0044): The deHavilland DHC-8-311 aircraft had climbed to approximately 600 feet AGL when the #2 Hamilton Standard model 14SF-15 propeller auto-feathered. The flight crew returned to the airport for an uneventful landing. Maintenance found the #1 torque sensing control unit (TSCU) faulty and replaced it. Ops. impact -- unknown. 17 S.O.B. -- three (3) crew; 14 passengers. The aircraft was on a scheduled IFR flight from Cleveland (Cleveland-Hopkins) International Airport, OH (U.S.A.) (KCLE) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ).
