Incident at TORONTO / BILLY BISHOP TORONTO CITY AIRPORT ON (CYTZ) (Public complaint)
Summary
1996-09-12: 2356Z, bright light turned on at Ontario Place, shining directly into departure path runway 26 (active runway). Ontario Place security called, indicated a film company was shooting there. Security was asked to have film crew call the tower. 0015Z, film company called tower and were asked to reposition or shut off light. From 2356 to 0025Z, multiple complaints received from arriving and departing aircraft. 0027Z, light moved and position approved by the tower. Film company advised to contact airport manager for future shoots. Ops. Impact -- multiple complaints.
