Incident at OTTAWA / MACDONALD-CARTIER INTL ON (CYOW)
Summary
1996-08-15: On the ground at Newark, New Jersey, the ground crew noted a small pool of hydraulic fluid in the vicinity of the aircraft's left main wheel. The brakes were functionally checked and no leaks were found. On landing in Ottawa, the crew used moderate braking and noticed slightly higher than normal brake temperatures. Smoke was seen coming from the left side of the aircraft and ERS were called out. There was no evidence of fire. Air Canada has experienced leaking brake seals so the number 1 brake assembly was replaced. 46 S.O.B. -- no injuries. From a TSB Initial Notification (#A96O0150).
