Accident at Near Maxville, Ontario

Summary

1996-08-06: The pilot was on a local flight when the engine quit. Several attempts to restart the engine were unsuccessful. The pilot subsequently performed a forced landing in a farmer's soybean field. The aircraft flipped over on landing when the landing gear became tangled in the soybeans, causing the ELT to activate. Two (2) S.O.B. -- both with minor injuries. The pilot reported that the four point shoulder harnesses prevented more serious injuries.
