Incident at Vicinity of Ottawa

Summary

1996-08-02: The pilot was on a VFR flight from Montréal (Mascouche (SK3)) to North Bay (CYYB) when Ottawa Terminal Control received a call from Gatineau FSS regarding the pilot who was lost. After some effort, Ottawa Terminal staff were able to transfer the aircraft to the Terminal frequency and provided assistance until they believed that the pilot had Ottawa (Rockcliffe) Airport in sight. Contact with the pilot was lost at that point. Calls to both Gatineau and Ottawa (Rockcliffe) did not produce any results (Rockcliffe staff heard an aircraft overhead the airport but none landed). At 1605Z, Gatineau FSS advised Ottawa Terminal Control that the aircraft had landed okay at Ottawa (Rockcliffe). Ops. impact -- none.
