Incident at TORONTO / LESTER B. PEARSON INTL ON (CYYZ)

Summary

1996-07-22: Prior to landing, the Flight Attendants noticed that one of the food service carts was not stowing securely in its housing. The Flight Attendants stowed it in its Athwart-Ships housing. When the aircraft turned and exited the runway after landing, the food cart came loose and proceeded up the aisle of the aircraft to the approximate mid-wing area. Before coming to a stop, the food service cart struck two passengers on the shoulder and one on the hand. The passengers were met at the terminal by a nurse who assessed the injuries as minor. The food service cart was removed from the aircraft and is being examined by Air Canada personnel. Ops. impact -- unknown. From a TSB Initial Notification (#A96O0127).
