Incident at Victoria Island, NWT
Summary
1996-07-14: At 1230Z, FIN147 was to position at 70N100W at 1231Z. At 1232Z, specialist observed on radar that aircraft was actually at 71N107W. AT 1233Z, Franklin sector (Edmonton ACC) called to request position report. Pilot confirmed position was 71N107W, and this was passed to Franklin sector. At 1234Z, aircraft was observed on radar to change flight path to head direct to 65N110W (next flight planned position). At 1242Z, Franklin sector issued new clearance "FIN147 SFO A PP 65N110W FPR F350 M M.84". At 1245Z, pilot advised that it was their error as the wrong information was put into the aircraft navigation equipment. This was passed to Franklin sector. Ops. Impact -- Conflict avoided.
