Accident at Picnic Lake (near Wawa)

Summary

1996-07-01: The aircraft crashed shortly after take-off from the lake. Witnesses reported the engine stopping prior to the crash. Extent of injuries to the two SOBs unknown. Ops. impact -- none. Supplemental information from T.S.B. Initial Notification (#A96O0108): C-FVIO, a float-equipped Norman Dube Aerocruiser advanced ultralight, apparently lost power after take-off and crashed into trees beyond the shoreline of Picnic Lake. The pilot was seriously injured. No valid pilot licence was on file for the pilot.
