Incident at Lima, Peru
Summary
1996-05-10: Aircraft had been used on an aerial survey contract in Northern Peru. At the completion of the contract, the aircraft with the pilot and three personnel departed VFR to Cvzco. At 1745Z, the aircraft was reported overdue and a sporadic ELT signal was picked up from an area about 100 nm east of Lima. The ground elevation of the area is 14,000 - 15,000 feet. Weather at the time was reported to be "bad". Search and rescue operations are in progress. Ops. Impact -- unknown. From a TSB Initial Notification.
