Incident at en-route to Toronto (LBPIA)
Summary
1996-04-18: The aircraft was inbound from from Las Vegas (McCarran International) Airport, NV (U.S.A.) (KLAS) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). The flight crew reported that they had lost hydraulic pressure (main brakes, ground spoilers and nose wheel steering). The flight crew requested runway 15 but Toronto tower staff advised that they were unable to offer it due to another company aircraft undergoing a possible bomb search on that runway (refer to CADOR #1996O0137). On the first approach to runway 06L, the aircraft was flown in a missed approach. The second approach resulted in a successful landing at 2340Z. Ops. impact -- numerous departure delays.
