Incident at SUDBURY ON (CYSB)
Summary
1996-03-27: During the descent into Sudbury, the crew of the DHC-8-102 reduced the power to 45% torque and noted a 15-20% roll-back in power of the starboard engine. When power was re-applied to level off, the engine responded normally. The crew subsequently reduced the power again and the starboard engine power rolled back 15-20% again. The flight crew suspected a fuel leak and requested ERS stand by for the landing. The aircraft landed without incident. Maintenance replaced the engine control unit, the hydraulic mechanical unit, the inlet probe and cleaned the canon plugs and connections in the wiring. The engine has not exhibited the same behaviour since. From a TSB Initial Notification (#A96O0060).
