Incident at TORONTO / LESTER B. PEARSON INTL ON (CYYZ) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown, Aerodrome - operations)
1996-04-15: Supplemental information from T.S.B. Initial Notification (#A96O0063): During take-off, the flight crew of the Boeing 737 observed low oil pressure on the #1 engine. The aircraft returned to Toronto (LBPIA) for landing with ERS standing by. The flight crew did not shut down the engine. Maintenance determined that the oil transmitter was faulty and replaced same. The aircraft was then returned to service. 68 S.O.B. -- five (5) crew; 63 passengers. The aircraft was on an IFR flight from Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ) to Orlando International Airport, FL (U.S.A.) (KMCO).
1996-04-08: A 1-C emergency was activated and the Canadian Airlines International Limited aircraft (operating as CDN282) returned to land on Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ) runway 24R due to low oil pressure. The aircraft landed safely at 1953Z and the 1-C emergency was stood down at 1954Z. Runway 24R was inspected and no fluid was found. Ops. impact -- minimal.
