Incident at HAMILTON ON (CYHM)


1996-03-11: The pilot had filed a VFR flight plan from Hamilton to Brampton and was cleared to taxi from the ramp via taxiways Foxtrot, Charlie and Hotel for runway 24. The aircraft taxied past the "hold" sign (on Hotel taxiway) to the edge of runway 24. The pilot was instructed to reverse direction and get off the runway. The pilot was later instructed to contact the tower on frequency 125.0. The aircraft started to taxi past the "hold" sign without a clearance while contacting the tower controller. The pilot was counselled by the tower controller. Ops. impact -- C-GOFP (PA-28), VFR, was on an approximate ¼-mile final approach for runway 24 and had to be "pulled-up."
