Incident at Buttonville, Ontario
Summary
1998-02-18: Aircraft on IFR approach to runway 21. Tower controller offers pilot runway 15 (longer runway) and pilot accepts. Pilot overflies airport after being cleared to land on runway 15. Pilot does a 360 degree turn, with tower approval, for runway 15. Aircraft landed on runway 21. Snow removal vehicle was off runway but almost backed onto the runway due to the green traffic crossing light still activated. Pilot did not have clearance to land on runway 21. Ops. Impact -- nil.
