Incident at Winnipeg, Manitoba 20 NM N
Summary
1996-12-24: Petimeter 503, a swearingen SA226-TC Metro II, departed Winnipeg on a scheduled passenger flight to Dauphin, Manitoba. About 20 NM north of Winnipeg, the flight crew noted that the left fire warning was cycling on and off. The crew diverted the flight back to Winnipeg and landed without further incident, with ERS standing by. Maintenance found that some of the electrical contacts for the fire warning system in the area of the left engine nacelle were grounding.
