Incident at NW of Fort McMurray, Alberta
Summary
1996-12-19: At 0240Z, Edmonton ACC advised Fort McMurray FSS that an aircraft was squawking 7700 northwest of Fort McMurray. It was determined that the pilot of C-FIAZ had shut down one engine and was inbound for landing at Fort McMurray. No assistance was requested and the aircraft was landed without incident at 0520Z. The oil cap was not secured allowing the engine oil to blow overboard. The engine was shut down by the pilot as a precautionary measure.
