Incident at Calgary, Alberta
Summary
1996-12-19: The pilot of ACA766 reported gear problems on departure. The aircraft returned to Calgary and landed safely at 0215Z. There were 28 SOB. CFR not required. UPDATE: Following take-off from Calgary, the A320's right main landing gear would not retract. The flight returned to Calgary and landed without further incident. Maintenance found the right main gear lock collar still installed. The lock collar was removed and the aircraft was returned to service. The gear locks, normally kept on the flight deck, were all located in their storage. The lock collar had come from the maintenance office, and had no streamer when removed after the flight's return.
