Incident at St. Andrews, Manitoba
Summary
1996-12-03: The pilot completed a normal touch down when the nosewheel came down quickly and the aircraft started skidding until the main tires burst. The aircraft came to a stop on the runway and the pilot, the sole occupant, evacuated the aircraft. The aircraft was removed from the runway after the wheels and tires were replaced. It is thought that the aircraft landed with the brakes frozen. It had been operating into Little Grand Rapids all day. The pilot suspected his brakes might be frozen and had set up for a "bounce landing" to jar the wheels, but the touch down was smoother than he planned.
