Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)
Summary
1996-11-29: The BAE 146 was de-iced shortly before take-off from Edmonton International Airport. About two minutes after take-off an odour was detected both in the cockpit and the front of the passenger cabin. After switching from APU air to engine air, the odour disappeared. It was determined that the irritating odour was caused by de-icing fluid ingested into the APU intake during de-icing. Upon reaching Vancouver International the entire crew was checked by medical staff.
