Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)
Summary
1996-11-25: While still at the gate, with the bridge still attached, and with maintenance working on the aircraft, the flight attendants on the McDonnell Douglas DC9 noticed a "cloud of smoke" entering the cabin. Fumes from a ground heater were suspected. Thirty-one passengers were deplaned via the L1 door. ERS was not called out. The flight was subsequently cancelled for a stabilizer warning fault, (not related to the smoke). The airport conditions were very cold, and diesel fumes from equipment hung in the air around the aircraft. Otherwise, there were no other reported problems. There were no injuries. There were no danagerous goods on board.
