Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

1996-12-10: Perimeter 101, an SW4, with two crew and 11 passengers departed Winnipeg for Island Lake on a routine scheduled flight. Shortly after departure the crew advised Winnipeg ACC that they were receiving a warning light indicating that the gear was not cycling up properly. The crew then advised that they were able to get a three down and locked indication and were returning to the airport where an uneventful landing was accomplished. UPDATE: Company maintenance found that the nose gear was causing the hydraulic system to repeatedly attempt to recycle the gear to the up position even though the three green were already in the up and locked positions. The nose gear up lock hook along with the nose gear actuators were changed and the system was re-rigged. The aircraft was then returned to service.
