Accident at Winnipeg, Manitoba


1996-12-10: Perimeter 625, a SW4, touched down on runway 36 at approximately the intersection of runway 31. This was the culmination of a routine courier flight from Regina. There was besides two crew, 1200 lbs of bank receipts on board. It was reported that the landing appeared irregular. The aircraft came to a stop just south of the runway 25 intersection with the gear collapsed. The crew called for assistance, ERS was alerted and responded immediately. Runway 36 was subsequently closed and appropriate agencies alerted and documentation secured. Several aircraft were delayed or diverted to alternates. There were no serious injuries to the crew, however, the aircraft was extensively damaged. TSB are investigating. UPDATE: Post accident investigation has not revealed a definitive reason why the main gear retracted. The investigation in continuing.
