Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC) (ATS operating irregularity)
1996-11-05: The Beech 100 was cleared to 15,000 feet with a DHC-8 cleared to 14,000 feet. The DHC-8 requested a climb to FL190, and was cleared by a trainee controller who did not verify lateral separation. Separation was reduced to three miles lateral and 600 feet vertical where a minimum of five miles lateral and 1,000 feet vertical is specified, before the monitor took over and re-routed the aircraft for lateral separation.
