Incident at Winnipeg, Manitoba

Summary

1996-10-31: The crew of WEW200 landed the 200 series Beechcraft on runway 31 at Winnipeg and immediately turned off onto runway 36 and shut down both engines. The crew advised Winnipeg Tower that they were experiencing steering problems. The problem was subsequently rectified and the aircraft was taxied to the apron area. There was a minor delay of one departing aircraft as runway 31 was inspected for debris. Severely small chucks of ice were found. Runway 36 was closed for approximately 15 minutes while a FOD check was conducted.
