Incident at PRINCE ALBERT (GLASS FIELD) SK (CYPA)
Summary
1996-12-10: The crew of Athabaska 202 had departed Prince Albert enroute La Ronge on a routine sheduled service flight which has departed Prince Albert earlier that morning and included stops at Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert and La Ronge. While on climb out the crew advised Prince Albert FSS that they were returning. The air radio operator requested further information. The operator was told to standby. Just prior to landing the crewised Prince Albert that they had shut down the left engine. The aircraft landed without further incident. Company maintenance are in the process of repairing the engine. UPDATE: Maintenance inspection revealed a broken fire detector loop. An SDR will be submitted.
