Incident at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan


1996-10-09: While enroute Saskatoon IFR from Regina the crew of Westwind 1081 advised ATC that they were shutting down the port engine due to an engine fire warning light illumination. The aircraft was landed without further incident. ERS at Saskatoon responded and reported that smoke was seen in the left wheel well area. There was however, no fire. Company maintenance were unable to locate or establish any evidence of fire or smoke. The fire warning sensors were inspected and replaced. The engine was ground run and the aircraft was then returned to service.
