Incident at Regina, Saskatchewan
Summary
1996-12-10: Shortly after departing runway 13 at Regina, the crew of NWA1516, a DC9, was enroute Minneapolis, advised Regina Tower that they were returning due to a bird being ingested into the right engine. The aircraft landed safely without further incident. The crew believe that the bird was a goose. UPDATE: None of the four crew members or 61 passengers sustained injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed that the first and second stages were damaged and that the engine will be replaced before further flight.
