Accident at Albany River, Ontario


1996-08-29: A Cessna 185 on floats was conducting freight flights between Albany River and Pickle Lake, Ontario. A Canadian Airlines flight received a radio call at 1519Z that the C185 had landed and experienced a problem on the Albany River near 5132N08851W. The pilot was OK and the aircraft was damaged. Lockhart Air dispatched an aircraft to pick up the pilot. The aircraft had run up on shore after landing fast and long. The pilot had contemplated overshooting but did not think that the aircraft would clear the trees and terrain. There were no passengers or freight on board the aircraft.
