Incident at Thunder Bay, Ontario
Summary
1996-08-29: The Bearskin Lake Air Services Fairchild Metro, SA227AC, C-GYQT, was en route Thunder Bay to Kenora, Ontario. On take-off roll the captain advanced the power levers and called for the first officer to set take-off power. The right engine then began to surge and the crew aborted the take-off. Maintenance personnel determined that worn friction adjustment control on the propellor speed levers allowed the right hand speed lever to creep back and cause fluctuations in the right hand engine torque.
