Incident at THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO

Summary

1996-08-02: The crew of CDR 1993 initially advised Thunder Bay ATC that they had an unsafe nosewheel indication. Shortly thereafter they advised that all was well and the aircraft landed safetly without further incident at 1603Z. UPDATE: Maintenance found that the generator failure had produced a voltage spike which damaged the light bulbs in the indication system. The aircraft was dispatched from Thunder Bay with the #2 generator disabled in accordance with the Operator's MEL.
