Incident at BLIND FIORD, NWT (Aerodrome - runway or taxiway surface condition)

1996-07-06: The crew of the Dehavilland DHC-6 Twin Otter was landing at Blind Fiord, NWT on a fuel cache flight from Resolute Bay. Shortly after touchdown the aircraft struck a frost crack, and the crew elected to go around. They completed the landing at Blind Fiord and one more off-strip landing and takeoff all without incident. On the return flight to Resolute Bay, the crew noticed that the propeller control levers were staggered and a "heavy landing" inspection of the aircraft revealed that the right inboard engine mount was broken. The operator will be submitting an SDR to Transport Canada.
