Incident at CHURCHILL MB (CYYQ)

Summary

1996-07-08: The crew of N187US started the no. 2 engine for ground testing when fuel which was escaping from the tail pipe area ignited and subsequently ignited fuel which had pooled on the apron area. The starting sequence was discontinued. The engines were shut down and the fire on the tarmac was extinguished. There was no damage to the aircraft or injury to personnel. The crew are awaiting a ferry kit so that the airacraft can be flown on a three-engine ferry flight back to Calgary.
