Accident at 35NM SE OF SIOUX LOOKOUT
Summary
1996-07-06: The float-equipped aircraft departed Fort Frances, Ontario VFR for Granite Lake, Savant Lake and a return to Fort Frances. There were besides the pilot 4 souls on board. While enroute the pilot reported that she had encountered poor flight conditions, low cloud with reduced visibilities. It was reported that while in the process of completing a precautionary landing on a lake the aircraft struck trees, crashed and burnt. The pilot and 4 occupants survived the accident although there were some injuries reported. The aircraft was destroyed by fire. The fire caused a minor forest fire to start up. Ontario MNR helicopter responded and assisted in the search and rescue. TSB to the scene. Update to follow.
