Accident at WINNIPEG / ST. ANDREWS MB (CYAV)

Summary

1996-06-14: The pilot of the Cessna 172 was attempting to land at St. Andrews when the aircraft began to porpoise. After about four or five pitch oscillations, the pilot attempted to overshoot however, the aircraft impacted the runway surface in a nose down attitude breaking the nose gear, striking the propeller tips and inflicting structural damage to the fuselage and lower firewall. The pilot and three passengers were uninjured.
