Incident at 1 mile east of Austin, MB
Summary
1996-07-03: While accomplishing night manoeuvers the pilot of Ranger 73 reported a birdstrike. The pilot force landed and inspected the aircraft for damage. There was no visible damage. The pilot walked to a nearby farm house and phoned a field aviation technician who went out to inspect the aircraft and subsequently advised that it was safe to fly. A goose or duck were perhaps the culprits in this adventure. The aircraft was ferried back to Southport where a more indepth inspection was completed.
