Incident at La Ronge, Saskatchewan

Summary

1996-06-09: The pilot of the Tracker CS2F-2, C-GEQD had experienced a false left engine fire warning light on a previous flight. Maintenance changed a fire detection loop and released the aircraft for a test flight. Shortly after take off, the pilot was alerted to a fire warning on the same engine. The pilot secured the engine and an uneventful landing was made in La Ronge. Maintenance discovered a second unserviceable fire detection loop. The aircraft has been repaired and returned to service.
