Accident at Matheson Island, Manitoba


1997-10-01: The pilot of C-GMJP, a Cessna U206C, departed Matheson Island, became airborne then settled back onto runway 21. The aircraft was VFR enroute from Matheson Island to Berens River. The pilot was unable to stop the aircraft in the runway remaining. The aircraft went off the end of the runway and ran into the trees, suffering substantial damage. There were no fatalities or injuries.
