Incident at MacDowell, Saskatchewan

Summary

1996-05-10: The aircraft was inbound to Birch Hills, Saskatchewan from Cooking Lake Alberta. The pilot advised Prince Albert Air Radio that due to an engine failure he was conducting an emergency landing on highway 311 southwest of Prince Albert. The pilot, after a successful force landing reported that the loss of power was the result of fuel exhaustion which was caused by a fuel line leak. The line was repaired, fuel was added, the RCMP were notified so that traffic on highway 311 could be diverted. The aircraft departed from the highway without further incident.
