Incident at Churchill, Manitoba

Summary

1996-04-15: The crew of Northland Air Manitoba 955 departed Churchill to Henigna Lake, NWT on a routine re-supply charter flight at 2101Z. Thirty-four minutes later the crew were notified by another aircraft that a broken wheel rim or ring had been found on the runway at Churchill and it was believed that it came off the Hawker. The crew decided that a return to Churchill would be prudent and the aircraft landed at 2222Z without further incident. The wheel assembly was replaced and the aircraft is now back in service. A service deficiency notification is being prepared and will be forwarded to Transport Airworthiness Branch.
