Incident at 100 Miles North, Winnipeg, MB

Summary

1996-04-03: The crew of PAG11 advised ATC that due to a fuel flow problem in the left engine they would be returning to Winnipeg. The aircraft had departed for Berens River, Manitoba with a crew of two and ten passengers on board. When the aircraft was approximately 20 North of Winnipeg, the crew shut down the left engine and declared an emergency. ERS responded and the aircraft landed without further incident. Maintenance determined that the woodward fuel control unit's rubber diaphragm ruptured which caused the fuel flow problem. The unit was replaced and the aircraft was returned to service.
