Incident at Thompson, Manitoba


1997-06-06: The pilot of Skyward SGK7211 (C-GGRB)(C207), advised Thompson radio that he was taxiing from the hangar line via taxiway Alpha for a departure off of runway 05. When the aircraft reached runway 05/23 the pilot turned right and taxied towards the button of 23. The air radio operator asked the pilot to confirm that he was now planning a departure off of runway 23. The pilot of SGK7211 confirmed. The air radio further advised SGK7211 that another Company aircraft SGK286(C-GSJP), a Cessna 310 was on short final for runway 14. The pilot of 7211 acknowledged this information. The pilot of 286 landed and the aircraft was observed rolling through the intersection of 05/23 in close proximity of the tail of 7211. Enforcement were advised of this situation by Air Radio at Thompson and are conducting an investigation.
