Incident at Winnipeg, Manitoba
Summary
1997-06-06: The pilot of C-FKMZ, a Beech E95, was conducting local work and reported a left engine failure 8 miles west of the airport. ERS advised and responded. The aircraft landed safely on runway 31 at 2022Z and taxied to the apron. No other aircraft were inconvenienced. The occurrence is being investigated by Transport Canada. UPDATE: Engineers found that ice had formed in the alternate air mechanism and restricted its operations, leading to a loss of induction air. The ice was removed and the aircraft returned to service.
