Incident at Thompson, Manitoba

1997-06-06: The pilot advised Thompson FSS that he had a left main gear unsafe light. The pilot did a fly by so the ground observers could determine whether the gear appeared to be down and locked. The pilot was told that the gear appeared normal and an uneventful landing was conducted without further incident. Company maintenance found a ground wire from the micro switch was disconnected. The problem was rectified and the aircraft was returned to service.
