Accident at Flin Flon, Manitoba


1997-06-06: The pilot and only occupant of a wheel equipped Cessna 210 departed Flin Flon for Lynn Lake. Search and Rescue was initiated because the aircraft did not arrive at destination. SARSAT picked up an ELT and a Canadian Military Hercules departed Winnipeg. Search & Rescue specialists were dropped from the Hercules on to the accident site which was approximately 3 miles off the end of runway 18 at Flin Flon. The aircraft was destroyed and the pilot was DOA at the hospital. TSB personnel are enroute to the scene.
